Farm Cards are a great way to stay connected to First Root Farm, support local agriculture, and enjoy the flexibility of farmers' market style shopping. They offer you the flexibility of buying only the items you want, so you’ll never be overwhelmed! If you’ve always been curious about a CSA, but aren’t ready to take the plunge, Farm Cards are a great alternative.
How it Works
Buying a Farm Card is like buying credit in the First Root Farmstand. You can purchase a Farm Card for any amount equal to or greater than $200, and cards can be used to purchase First Root Farm veggies as well as any available extras including fruit, eggs, meat, cheese, mushrooms, and dry goods. After the initial purchase, Farm Cards can be refilled to any amount at any point throughout the season, and once you receive your card you will even have the option of storing it at the farmstand where you can always find it.
For each initial Farm Card purchase we will add a 5% bonus value, so a $200 card will be worth $210, a $300 card will be worth $315, and so forth. To purchase a Farm Card now, head on over to our online store. Once we receive your check, we’ll send your activated First Root Farm Card in the mail!
*Please note: All 2016 Farm Cards must be redeemed by the end of the 2016 season, or December 31st, 2016. Farm Cards can not be used towards the purchase of a CSA share.
Where to Use Your Farm Cards
Farm Cards are redeemable at our farmstand, seasonal veggie sales, and special farmers' markets, such as Concord Ag Day. Our farmstand is open Tuesdays from 3-7pm and Saturdays from 2-5pm and is located at 955 Lexington Road in Concord.
Each week, our farmstand will feature what’s fresh and bountiful. We harvest the same day, so you’ll be getting the freshest veggies possible! You can expect all the vegetables we grow for the CSA--lots of greens in the early summer, tomatoes, peppers, eggplant, and other tender fruits at the height of the season, and beautiful roots, potatoes, and onions in the fall.
You can also use your Farm Cards for our pick-your-own crops, including peas, beans, tomatillos, cherry tomatoes, and flowers, as well as any extra items we have including fruit, eggs, meat, cheese, mushrooms, and dry goods. We’ll be posting updates about what’s available each week on our Facebook page, so be sure to check it out.
