Farm Bucks are a great way to stay connected to First Root Farm, support local agricutlure, and enjoy the flexibility of farmers' market style shopping. They offer you the flexibility of buying only the vegetables you want, so you’ll never be overwhelmed! If you’ve always been curious about a CSA, but aren’t ready to take the plunge, Farm Bucks are a great alternative.
How it Works
Buying Farm Bucks is like buying credit in the First Root market. Our Farm Bucks come in increments of $5. You can buy as many as you want. For every $50 you spend, you get a free $5 Farm Buck–that’s a 10% discount on vegetables! To buy your Farm Bucks now, head on over to our online store. Once we receive your check, we’ll send you your First Root money!
Where to Redeem Your Farm Bucks
Farm Bucks are redeemable at our mini-stand, seasonal veggie sales, and special farmers' markets, such as Concord Ag Day. Our mini-farmstand is open Tuesdays from 3-7pm and Saturdays from 2-5pm, in the big white barn at 955 Lexington Road. In 2015, the mini-stand will open Tuesday June 2nd and close on Saturday October 31st. 2015 Farm Bucks must be redeemed during the 2015 season–any that are leftover will not be redeemable next year. Farm Bucks cannot be used toward CSA shares.
Each week, the market will feature what’s fresh and bountiful. We harvest the same day, so you’ll be getting the freshest veggies possible! We’ll be posting updates about what’s available each week on our Facebook page, so be sure to check it out.
You can expect all the vegetables we grow for the CSA--lots of greens in the early summer, tomatoes, peppers, eggplant, and other tender fruits at the height of the season, and beautiful roots, potatoes, and onions in the fall. You can also use your Farm Bucks for our pick-your-own crops, including peas, beans, tomatillos, cherry tomatoes, and flowers.
